Cons Main cons are that it gives up the 3 ball, makes it harder to defensive rebound, and lets the other team hunt matchups easier IMO. For what its worth I think zone as a base defense is a cop out for amateur coaches coaching 10y.o. and up chasing short term wins at the expense of player development or being lazy/wanting to save time.
